Keep in mind that this is a very large genre and any type of top 10 list will typically carry very heavy debates. There is nothing on this planet like enjoying a great martial arts films, and this is why we are paying homage by offering this list. Many things were considered while developing this list however, in the end it seems like storyline was sometimes able to beat out the actual form and physical performance of the stunt men that helped make these films so great.

In the very first slot we have "Enter the Dragon". This is a 1970's film with Bruce Lee, the man some people accredit to turning the genre into what it is today. Out of all his pictures, this is considered by many to be the most popular.

This next choice might surprise some people, but we are going to have to go with the American film: "The Karate Kid". Remade for the new generation in 2010, the original picture is not only very well done but also considered to be a staple of 1980's American cinema by many critics.

Our next choice is a very enjoyable film. It is the Asian film: "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". This film is often considered to be a major attempt by the modern Asian market to recapture the genre that they have given to the world.

The next film comes straight out of the 1990's and features America's most beloved martial artist/comedian, Jackie Chan. "Rumble in the Bronx", is a really great example of Chan at his best, when American audiences were just starting to discover him in heavier circulation.

Right in the middle of our list comes Jet Li. The film "Hero" is very important to note as it offers some of Li's best work to date.

"Fearless" would have to be not only the sixth entry but the second Jet Li entry. A very entertaining picture from 2002, directed by American horror genre regular, Ronny Yu.

The next film is very important to take note of as it brought Jackie Chan heavily into American and world Culture. This would be the late ninety's comedy "Rush Hour". A film that Chan made with comedian Chris Tucker. There are two sequels but they can't hold a candle to the original.

This next film has a soft spot in most people's heart because it is based off the first very popular martial arts video game. We are of course talking about "Mortal Kombat".

Filling the last two slots is American film maker's Quentin Tarentino's work. His film: "Kill Bill: Volume I", paid perfect homage to the 70's era, exploitation style, kung fu films.

"Kill Bill: Volume II", is important to mention because the resolution of this wonderful story is so very entertaining to watch.

We hope that this guide that offers up the Top 10 Recommended Martial Arts Movies of all time, will greatly assist any person with a martial arts appetite that they are looking to satisfy.
