After several long and hard years of college, you have earned the right to celebrate with a well-planned and fun graduation party. Throwing an awesome graduation party does not require much effort, but it does require planning. An important first step in throwing a grad party is picking the date and setting your budget. Presumably you have other friends in your graduating class, so to cut costs you may want to explore the option of planning a joint party.
Once you have set down a budget and date, you are going to want to choose an optimal location that fits into the parameters of your specific budget. Options for location may be rental of an entire hall (likely on the pricier side), or simply reserving space at a local restaurant or bar. Another good option is to host the party at your home or at a friend's home. This can work out especially well if weather permits an outdoor BBQ party, and if the home has a swimming pool. A downside to hosting your own party is that set-up and clean-up will either cost you in your wallet or take much of your time.
Entertainment is also essential in throwing a grad party, and music is always a good choice. Other party games can also be fun even for your 20+ year old graduate. Board games are nice, but try to be as creative as possible in choosing your games. Perhaps theme the games towards your Alma Mater, or look online for graduation themed games. Outdoor games or light sports games, again weather permitting, can be exciting and entertaining if done right. Remember though, this party won't be a party at all if nobody shows up.
For this reason, graduation announcements are probably the most fundamental step in throwing a graduation party. Instead of wasting money on expensive graduation cards, it is best to use online services to send out your graduation announcements and include invite information about your graduation party. By saving money on graduation cards, you will be able to spend more of your money on the things that matter more, such as food, drink, and entertainment.
Once you have your date, location, entertainment, and friends, sit back and enjoy the party, after all you deserve it!
